More Detail:
Two sailing ships beautifully captured as round cufflinks for a fine gentleman. This set of two 18K gold-plated cufflinks features a stunning white rendering of Sir Francis Drake's famous privateer The Golden Hind, in elegant bas-relief against Saxon blue jasper. These handsome cufflinks were created by Wedgewood in the tradition established by Josiah Wedgwood (1730-1795), a master potter and member of the British Royal Society. Josiah Wedgwood's crowning achievement was the creation of Jasperware, an unglazed vitreous body, providing the perfect background for classic scenes in bas-relief. The Museums of Colonial Williamsburg own many pieces of Wedgwood. These little treasures will add a stately elegance to any man's wardrobe. They make an ideal gift for Father's Day, birthdays, anniversaries, or just because.
