Virginia Blue Dinnerware
A porcelain classic inspired by Chinese export ware, refreshed with pearlized ecru borders and boldly scaled accent plates. The originalstwo plates in the Colonial Williamsburg collectionsmatch a set with a history of use on a Tidewater Virginia plantation on the eve of the American Revolution. In 1762, young planter Robert Beverley wrote his London agent requesting "China of the most fashionable Sort" for his bride, and soon received a set of blue and white china identical to our inspiration pieces. Two place setting styles are available. Each includes a dinner plate, bird-motif salad/dessert plate, cup and saucer, and a bread and butter plate with either a bird motif or a blue and ecru border. Dishwasher and microwave safe. Exquisite creamware charger with strawberry leaf rococo border makes this memorable setting even more noteworthyand also makes a wonderful cake plate. Hand wash. All made in Europe.
