Colonial Williamsburg engravers are among the few who still practice the craft of hand engraving in the time-honored manner. Other than working by candlelight, the craft practiced today is little changed from that of two centuries ago.
- Double-check all spelling and punctuation. Be sure you send the inscription exactly as you wish it to appear
- For three-letter monograms, underline surname initial
- Provide any special instructions — the more information, the better
- Allow an additional 4 to 6 weeks for hand engraving
