What Makes A WILLIAMSBURG Product?

How is an 18th-century table in our collections re-created to be purchased today? Our licensing program finds the very best in design from our world-class museum collections and works with more than 60 high-quality manufacturers who are authorized to develop and produce the 7000+ products sold under the WILLIAMSBURG® name. They range from large international companies to small local businesses.

Our licensing program was begun in 1930 by John D. Rockefeller Jr., the principal benefactor of the Historic Area's restoration in Williamsburg. From the first reproduction of creamware, based on shards found at the site of the Raleigh Tavern, WILLIAMSBURG® has grown to be the world's oldest and largest museum licensing program.

In addition to our licensed products, which are made and sold nationwide by leading companies in the industry, our offerings also encompass proprietary products—those made exclusively for and sold exclusively by The Colonial Williamsburg Foundation. Spanning both the WILLIAMSBURG® and premium WILLIAMSBURG® Reserve lines, our products are inspired by the 18th century, designed for today's lifestyle, and right for every room of the home.

When you purchase WILLIAMSBURG® products, you are supporting the preservation, research, and educational programs of The Colonial Williamsburg Foundation. Thank you!
