Our licensing program was begun in 1930 by John D. Rockefeller Jr., the principal benefactor of the Historic Area's restoration in Williamsburg. From the first reproduction of creamware, based on shards found at the site of the Raleigh Tavern, WILLIAMSBURG® has grown to be the world's oldest and largest museum licensing program.
